ALL ABOUT TURMERIC
Turmeric is one of the most favorite health foods in Japan and is known as "super food".
Okinawa, Japan is the hometown of longevity in the world. The consumption of turmeric is considered to be one of the main reasons for the longevity of Okinawa people.
Turmeric contains 3% to 5% curcumin. Curcumin is a natural and powerful antioxidant that has antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, liver and kidney protection effects.

Temples without turmeric is impossible to see.
South Indians ladies of the past used to apply Turmeric when they have bath in the river or at home.
I have witnessed the lady who had the spirit of Maha Kali drinking turmeric water from Kudam ( a big container )in my native town.
If you have cold and cough severe , you can take a little powder in a table spoon and mix it with water and apply on your forehead and watch the result.
During Covid many of the villagers used Neem Leaves and water mixed with Turmeric as Disinfectant and it worked.
Punyachan or making the home clean and pure after any special function is done by many in India even now.
Sometimes this is done by flowers with cow's urine( gomuthraa)after some days to make the house pure.
